  • Bharatiya Janata Party Seemandhra chief Kambhampati Haribabu has said that the party would contest all seats in coming Assembly and Lok Sabha seats if alliance talks with Telugu Desam Party failed.
  • TDP to introduce Rs.5 per plate meal scheme
    TDP president Nara Chandrababu Naidu participating Praja Garjana here said that he will introduce Rs.5 per plate meals in the name of NTR canteen. He said that he will take the responsibility of missing late Yerrannaidu in the district. Former Minister Satrucharla Vijayaramaraju, former MLA Duvvada Nagavali and former MLC Gorle Haribabu joined the party in his presence.

  • Engineering graduate held on rape charges
    VISAKHAPATNAM: An engineering graduate S Rajesh was arrested by police at Peda Gantayada on Tuesday on the charge of sexually harassing two minor nieces. According to police, the accused used to lure the girls with chocolates and cakes and took them to his house when the other family members were away and allegedly raped the elder girl and sexually harassed the younger one. This came to light following the elder girl complained of pain and the victims' parents lodged a police complaint. The accused was arrested and cases were booked against him under various sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act and the Nirbhaya Act.
  • Supreme Court rejects CBI SIT probe in Muzaffarnagar communal riots
    The Supreme Court of India on Wednesday rejected the plea for a Central Bureau of Investigation/Special Investigation Team probe into the Muzaffarnagar communal riots in September last. A Division bench headed by Chief Justice of India Justice P Sathasivam said that if the Centre and the State intelligence had smelled of what was happening at the ground level, then the riots could have been prevented.

  • TRS politburo member Cheruku Sudhakar resigns
    TRS politburo member Dr. Cheruku Sudhakar on Tuesday resigned from Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) arty in protest against denial of party ticket from Nakrekal constituency in Nalgonda district. Before submitting his resignation to B Suman, resident of student wing of the party, he went to TRS Bhavan garlanded the statue of 'Telangana Talli' and paid tributes. Speaking to press, he alleged that the party leadership preferred only financially sound candidates over those who participated in the movement and those who worked for the party. He said that he is prepared to contest as an independent from Nakrekal.
  • Forest fire at Chilakalagutta under control
    Forest and Fire Department authorities have finally managed to bring the forest fire at Chilakalagutta in Warangal under control. The fire began at noon yesterday. The location of the forest is close to the Samakka Sarakka temple at Medaram, Tadvai Mandal of Warangal.
