  • Srinivasan Dwarakanath appointed as Airbus India CEO
    Airbus on Tuesday said that it had appointed Srinivasan Dwarakanath as Airbus India CEO. Airbus said it is bringing all its Indian activities under one roof through the creation of a fully owned subsidiary called Airbus India to manage the company's significant footprint spread across several sites in the country, the French company said in a release.
  • Process of division of police personnel begins
    Director General of Police (DGP) B Prasada Rao said that the process of division of police personnel between Telangana and residual Andhra Pradesh has begun. He said that committers have been formed in police department and process is on in regard to personnel working, assets as well the position of files, said the DGP.
  • EU and TMU to go on strike demanding payment of IR from tomorrow
    Following failure of the talks with the Labour Commissioner, APSRTC's Employees Union (EU) and Telangana Mazdoor(TMC) Union JAC has given a call for strike from March 12. It may be recalled that they were demanding payment of Interim Relief. They said that they would go indefinite strike from March 12 if no statement comes on their demand.
  • Shilpa Mohan Reddy along with MLAs join TDP
    Hyderabad: Exodus of Congress leaders to Telugu Desam Party continued with two MLAs and a former legislator joining the main opposition party of Andhra Pradesh on Monday. Senior Congress MLA and former Minister Shilpa Mohan Reddy, MLA Labbi Venkataswamy and ex-MLA Challa Ramakrishna Reddy, all hailing from Kurnool district, joined TDP.

    HYDEABAD: BJP president Rajnath Singh said on Tuesday that the party has not taken any decision on alliances with any party in the State. Speaking to press after he came over ruled to queries if the BJP was looking for a pact with the TDP.
  • AICC appoints Lakshmiah as TPCC president?
    Sources said that former Minister Ponnala Lakshmiah's name has been finalized for the Telangana Pradesh Congress Committee (TPCC) post. However, AICC has reportedly decided to continue Botcha Satyanarayana for PCC for residual Andhra Pradesh State. Uttam Kumar Reddy has been appointed as Telangana Working president.   • SBH launches 'SBH-110 Weeks'
    State Bank of Hyderabad has launched a new deposit scheme 'SBH-110 Weeks' and offers liquidity and higher rate of interest to its deposits. The scheme is operational from March 10 to April 30. Under this, the minimum deposit amount is Rs. 1000 and maximum Rs.99 lakhs and customers have the option to withdraw the amount after seven days with no penalty. The Bank is offering interest rate of 9.11 per cent per annum for public and 9.41 per cent per annum for senior citizens.

    TADIPARTI: Former Municipal Chairman and current MLA JC Diwakar Reddy on Tuesday filed his nomination for 18, 34 wards. The unexpected move of JC created a sensation when he earlier said of contesting MLA on TDP ticket. JC Asmit Reddy son of Diwakar Reddy will contest in one of the wards, said sources.

    On the first day on Monday 11 nomination were filed in Ananthapur. One Corporation 11 Municipalities and 373 ward members comes under the purview of the district.

  • Government plans to build 200 low cost airports
    Addressing a media conference in connection with the India Aviation show that commences from March 12, the Union Joint Secretary for Ministry of Civil Aviation, Ashok Kumar said that the government has plans to build nearly 200 low cost airports.
    Asok Kumar said that the government is keen in the smaller cities in a bid to improve connectivity. He said that at least four to five small airports from the State including at Kadapa and Rajahmundry are likely to take place in the list. The Airports Authority of India was planning to invest Rs.1,500 crore in developing non-metro airports in the 12th Plan.
  • TDP spokesmen Sudeesh Rambhotla resigns
    TDP official spokesmen Sudeesh Rambhotla has resigned from the TDP. Sources said that he is eyeing on BJP. Rambhotla hails from Amalapuram in East Godavari district, but has settled in Hyderabad long ago. He unsuccessfully contested election to the Lok Sabha from Secunderabad in 2009. In a letter to the party president he said that has quit the party as was not able to adjust to the party's changing priorities.

  • Pistol misfires leave one seriously injured
    VIJAYAWADA: A pistol in the hands of a temple priest misfired that left one person injured seriously. Police said that Anjaneya Swamy temple priest Ravidatta along with a person planned to shoot the husband of the priest's lover and knowing that he will be coming to Vijayawada came to the RTC bus stand. The misfired incident took place when he was loading the bullets and injured a passenger Venkat Ramana from West Godavari. Police took Ravidatta into custody and inquiring. Sources said that the accused bought the pistol from Bihar and is not having licence.
  • Forest department officials have seized Red Sandalwood worth Rs. 10 lakhs that was transported illegally. Surprise inspections were held at Berukuppam in Satyavedu mandal of Chittoor district.
