  • TDP and YSRCP workers clash leave one killed
    SRIKAKULAM: A quarrel between two women in Samantapuram village in LN Peta mandal has turned into clash between TDP and YSRCP activists. In the clash one TDP worker Pilla Ramanayya was killed on the spot while 15 others belonging these two groups were injured. The injured were admitted to Rajiv Gandhi Institute of Medical Sciences (RIMS) in Srikakulam. Old rivalries are said to be cause of the incident.
  • AP High court sends notice on KG Basin
    HYDERABAD: A Division Bench of Andhra Pradesh High Court comprising Justice G Rohini and Justice TS Chowdary ordered notices to governmental agencies while dealing with a writ petition seeking a direction. The petitioner P Srikanth Reddy of Janapalana Party organization sought a direction of CBI investigation under the supervision of the High Court to keep a watch on the ensuing elections in the State as the major political parties in collusion with reliance group and alleged that the Congress, TDP, BJP and YSRCP in collusion with the Reliance Industries Ltd. The State Government and Central Governments and Director General of Hydro Carbons have been asked to respond and the case is posted to April 2.
  • Tribal dance group leader gunned down
    KHAMMAM: A key functionary of the CPI(M) who is also the leader of a tribal dance troupe was shot dead by suspected Maoists at Tummala village in the wee hours of Monday. The deceased was identified as Patra Mutyam. Sources said that an armed group barge into the victim's house around midnight and whisked him away to the outskirts of the village and shot him down. They left a letter in the name of Maoist Sabari Area Committee stating that the deceased was acting as a police informer.
  • Secunderabad MLA Jayasudha appears before court
    Secunderabad Congress MLA Jayasudha on Monday appeared before Secunderabad X Additional Chief Metropolitan Magistrate Court in a Election Code violation case. It is alleged that she distributed flags and caps on 2 night at around 8.30 in violation of election code. The case posted to June 2.
  • AICC general secretary Digvijay Singh visiting on March 14
    AICC general secretary Digvijay Singh will be visiting the State on March 14 and 15 and will be available in Hyderabad. Party sources said that he will discuss on the possible alliance with TRS during his visit to the State. A final picture will emerge only after his visit to the State said sources.
  • Youth dies after suddenly collapsed from treadmill at a Gym
    A youth G Vasu (22) died after he collapsed from the treadmill. He was rushed immediately to hospital where doctors claimed to have brought dead. The incident happened at a gym in Vanasthalipuram in Hyderabad on Sunday. Basing on a complaint, police registered a case u/s 304(A) of IPC against the gym authorities and are investigating.
  • Harirama Jogayya says good-bye to YSRCP
    Palakol (West Godavari):Former MP and YSRCP leader Chegondi Harirama Jogayya on Monday quit the party. Speaking to press at his residence, he charged the YSRCP as the pocket party of Jagan Mohan Reddy. He said that he is quitting the party as persons of straight forward nature cannot be adjusted in the party. He added that no decision has been taken on joining in any party.

  • Air show in Hyderabad
    Ministry of Civil Aviation, Government of India, Jointly with Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry (FICCI) is organizing the 4th Edition of India Aviation 2014 from March 12 - 16, 2014 at Hyderabad. In the five days show, 250 airplanes from 18 countries will show case their product. The bigger planes Air Bus A 380, Boeing 787 are some of the 18 aircrafts to take participation. Union Minister civil Aviation Ajit Singh will inaugurate the show.
