January 23, 2014 - Hyderabad
The Business Advisory Committee (BAC) meeting convened by the Speaker Nadendla Manohar on Thursday decided to give three minutes time to each of the member to discuss on the draft Bill. The meeting was held after the President extended the deadline for discussion on the AP State Reorganization Bill till January 20.
51 Members expressed view and 227 have to take part
In the Assembly, 51 members including 29 from Telangana and 22 from Seemandhra have expressed their views on the Bill in the 294 member House. It may be recalled that the strength of the House was reduced to 278 after 16 members were disqualified for defying their party whips during the no-trust motion held last year.
The meeting decided to give about three minutes to each member while the nominees would be allotted between one to two hours each. It may be noted here that 227 members still have to take part in the debate.
