Loan waiver - Government asks capable farmers to repay loans
August 5, 2014 - Hyderabad
The State Government on Monday has asked the capable farmers to repay the loans as it would take another two months for the government to waive all crop loans availed by them.
The Minister for Agriculture, Pathipati Pulla Rao asked the farmers who have the capacity to repay their outstanding debts to pay back immediately. ‘I call upon those farmers, who can repay their loans, to do the same with immediate effect and by doing so, they can avail fresh loans. However, they need not worry about their paid amount as the government will reimburse their loan amount directly to them as soon as it decides to implement the loans waiver scheme’, he said.
On those who are not in a position to repay, the Minister said that the government had already directed the Collectors to prepare a list of such so that the government would deposit the required amount directly to their accounts soon.
