Legendary Actress Anjali Devi passed away

Telugu senior Tollywood actress Anjali Devi (86) expired on Monday in Chennai. She had her last her breath in Vijaya Hospitals on Monday while she was undergoing treatment for the last one week.
Anjali Devi original name Anjali Kumar was born on August 24, 1928 at Peddapuram in East Godavari district. She married to noted music director Adinarayana Rao and blessed with two sons.
She began her movie carrier with 'Gollabhama'. Seeta character in the move 'Lava Kusha' brought her name and fame. Among other excellent movies are 'Keelu Gurram', 'Suvarna Sundari', 'Anarkali'. She acted with Tollywood heroes late Dr.NT Rama Rao, and Akkineni Nageswara Rao. Tollywood had expressed deep shock over her death.
She was honoured with Raghupati Venkaiah Award in 2005, Ramineni Award in 2006, and Akkineni Nageswara Rao award in 2007 for her services to the movie field. She last acted in the movie 'Police Alludu' in 1994.
She was honoured with Raghupati Venkaiah award from Andhra Pradesh State Government. Tamil Naidu government honoured her with Siromani, Kaliselvi, Arignar, Anna award, Life time achievement awards. Film fare awards: She bagged film fare Award for her best heroine role in Anarkali in 1955, Suvarna Sundari in 1957, Chenchulakshmi in 1958 and Jayabheri in 1959.
Some of the movies that fetched her name and fame included 'Anarkali, Chandipriya, Balaraju, Keelu Gurram, Raksharekha, Swapna Sundari, Sri Lakshmama Katha, Palleturi Pilla, Marma Yogi, Sangham, Rechukka, Annadhada, Bangaru Bhoomi, Rani Ratna Prabha, Jayasimha, ilavelupu, Bhakta Tukaram, Mangalya Bandham, Sri Venkateswara Vrata Mahatyam , Badipantulu, Pandanti Kapuram, Vichitabandam, Kaalam Marindi are some of many to refer.
The body will be in the hospital on Monday and Tuesday for her organs donation and final rituals will be held on Wednesday, according to sources.
Tamil Nadu Governor, K Rosaiah, Chief Minister Jayalalitha, DMK president Karunanidhi expressed shock and grief. The Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy, TDP president Nara Chandrababu Naidu expressed deep shock over her death and grief along with the entire movie field.
