LPG distributors call off indefinite strike from February 25

Following an assurance from the Oil Companies to constitute a committee to look into their grievances, the proposed indefinite strike by the LPG distributors have called off.
It may be recalled here that the All India LPG Distributors Federation and Federation of LPG distributions in India has given an indefinite strike call from Tuesday demanding The demands include that the Ministry and the oil marketing companies (OMCs) to fix a uniform price for the LPG cylinders as the variation in price was what led to one type of cylinder being misused for another. The dealers are also demanding pilfer-proof seals on cylinders, a fool-proof delivery system that they say are currently non-existent, and the immediate cancellation of newly advertised distributorships. The organisations sought a systematised method of delivery of cylinders, change the policy of appointment of distributors are among others.
