Kurnool cannot be made State Capital’, Chief Minister

August 17, 2014 - Hyderabad

The Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu on Sunday speaking to media after releasing a white paper on the impact of bifurcation of the State has given hints that he has no plans to shift his camp office to Vijayawada in near future.

On the exception raised by some leaders of political parties other than TDP, he said that ‘when and where I have to shift my office I know it very well and I will take a decision on it at an appropriate time. No one has the right to ask me to shift from Hyderabad to another place’, he remarked.

Kurnool cannot be made capital:
Chandrababu Naidu said that Kurnool cannot be made capital of the State as it is not centrally located. We would choose a place that is centrally located as has good connectivity and infrastructure. He further added that as a Chief Minister, I might want to locate the new capital in my own Chitoor district but I am not doing so as it is not correct. We should understand the situation and the need of the hour and behave responsibility. He said that those who want to make Kurnool as capital should decide whether they want development or like to play politics, he said.
