Vijayawada Police busts Kidney racket

Police arrested five persons including two women on Tuesday involved in kidney racket.
According to police, the accused tried to sell kidneys with the help of one Balaji Singh from Jangareddygudem to Kranti Kumar. Durga Prasad and they entered an agreement to sell each kidney for Rs.2 lakhs. However, the kingpin Sai from Hyderabad is absconding.
The accused tried to sell the kidney with forged certificates. The arrested included Durga Prasad and four kidney brokers. They forged the signature of Joint Collector and MRO. Sources said that they have good relations with some reputed hospitals in Hyderabad.
The issue came to light when Satya Hospitals at Hyderabad referred the issue to Vijayawada for verification and found that the signature on the papers were forged one.
