Fire in train
KURNOOL: Tension gripped passengers of Guntakal-Raichur train when fire broke out in the train in Kurnool district on Monday. The crew which noticed the smoke and flames stopped the train at Nancharla. The scared passengers ran helter-skelter fearing for life. The railway staff put out the flames.
Blast victim vows to launch against GAIL and ONGC
RAJAHMUNDRY: One Vanarasi Venkata Prasad, who is undergoing at Bollineni Hospital in Rajahmundry said that he and his family members suffered severe wounds in the gas pipeline blast at Nagaram of Mamidikuduru mandal of East Godavari district on Friday. He was shifted to special room in the hospital form ICU after his condition improved but his wife Suryakumari is still in ICU. He said that they would not allow any activity of oil companies in their area. He said that he along with farmers and sarpanch N Ganeshbabu had complained to GAIL authorities about the leakage 15 days prior to the incident.
SHAR launches India into the select league
NELLORE: The Satish Dhavan Space Centre (SDSC) has successfully launched PSLV C-23 on Monday. The PSLV roared into the sky carrying five foreign satellites belonging to developed nations like France. The launch Centre so far has launched 35 foreign satellites into the orbit. On Monday’s launch, ISRO chairman K Radhakrishnan and SHAR director M.Y.S.Prasad had another successful space mission. Former ISRO Chairman U.R.Rao and Kasturirangan were present on the occasion along with the Prime Minister Narendra Modi.
Five of family drowns in Dindi reservoir
NALGONDA: Five people including two girls drowned in Dindi reservoir constructed across Dundubi River in Nalgonda district on Monday. D.Karnakar Reddy and his brother Datta Reddy on Monday performed the 10th day ceremony of their father Malla Reddy at the reservoir and all the family members had a swim there. Unaware of the depth of the reservoir, the youngster venture into the reservoir and got drowned.
Government will not extend fee reimbursement to Andhra Students’, says Telangana Education Minister
HYDERABAD: T-Minister for Education Jagadeshwar Reddy said that the government will not follow the earlier government customs in respect of fee reimbursement. He clarified that the Fee reimbursement will be allowed only to students of Telangana and the dues of the students from Andhra Pradesh has to be borne by that government only. He said that eligibility for the scheme and the cut off year of 1956 is only a proposal’, said Jagadeswar Reddy.
Petrol diesel prices hiked
NEW DELHI: The Government has hiked the petrol price by Rs.1.69 per liter while diesel by 0.50ps. and the revised prices will come into force from the midnight of Monday.
Single window system in IT firms
HYDERABAD: AP Minister Palle Raghunath said that the government is making efforts for installing of IT companies in the State and single window system would be introduced. He said action plan is being made to bring IT industries in 100 days and the government is consulting national and international IT companies. The Minister said that ITIR will be created at Visakhapatnam.
TDP is encouraging defections
GUNTUR: YSRCP leaders MV Mysoora Reddy and Ambati Rambabu said that the TDP leaders are stooping down and encouraging defections. They said that the whip issued will be cent per cent valid. They demanded the TDP to implement the promises made to the people before elections.
EAST GODAVARI: AP Home Minister Chinarajappa and the representatives of the GAIL have on Monday distributed the ex-gratia to the victims of GAIL tragedy. The GAIL officials said that they will adopt Nagaram village and will develop as a modern village.
Equal status to Aqua at par with agriculture’, says Minister for Agriculture Pulla Rao
KRISHNA: AP Minister for Agriculture and Fisheries Pattipati Pulla Rao said that the government would make efforts to make Aqua with equal to Agriculture. He said that there are 20,000 aqua farmers in Krishna and West Godavari district and the government is getting Rs.20 crore income from the aqua filed. He assured the issue to decrease the 4 per cent tax on the raw materials will be taken to the notice of the Chief Minister.

AIIMS to come at Vijayawada
VIJAYAWADA: Minister for Medical and Health Education Kamineni Srinivas speaking to press said that a delegation from Centre will be visiting here for creation of AIIMS. He said that the Centre is allotting Rs.12 crores for this purpose. He said that Vijayawada will be designed as medical hub city.
YSRCP stages dharna at RDO office
JAMMALAMADUGU: YSRCP leaders on Monday staged dharna at the Revenue Divisional Officer’s office in protest against retrenchment of staff of Mid-day meals scheme organizers, dealers and others.
