Maoist commits suicide in jail

VISAKHAPTNAM: Maoist under trail Pangi Mangaraju (31) allegedly committed suicide by hanging in the Central Jail in the wee hours of Saturday. Police said that the deceased was an area commander of the Chitrakonda Committee of the banned CPI (Maoist) and was in remand since 2010. He was listed in 14 cases including the Balimela ambush case and Gunukurayi encounter case. He was found hanging to the ventilator of a bathroom. The incident came to light at around 1.20am on Saturday and wash shifted to KGH where he was said to have been brought dead.

Commercial Tax employee in ACB net

KADAPA: Anti-Corruption Bureau officials on Saturday apprehended a Commercial Tax department L Jitendera on Saturday when he took a bribe of Rs.1,500 from a civil contractor for giving VAT clearance certificate. He was caught when was taking the bribe red-handed.

Two more dead bodies recovered

MANDI: Two more dead bodies of the students were retrieved in the Beas river tragedy on Friday. With this, the total number of dead bodies retrieved had gone to 19. The dead bodies of five more students along with a tour operator has to be recovered.

Telangana Political JAC demands immediate withdrawal of Ordinance

HYDERABAD: Telangana Political JAC Chairman Prof. Kodandaram demanded the Centre to immediately with draw the ordinance issuance on Polavaram project merging the submergible mandals in Andhra Pradesh. Former Whip Gandra Venkata Ramana Reddy fires on TRS

HYDERABAD: Former Government Whip Gandra Venkata Ramana Reddy on Saturday fired on TRS party alleging that it is showing favors to the ZPTC members. He said that a whip is being issued to all on Saturday and threatened that if they violate whip, they will lose their ZPTC membership and added if they make any switchovers, they will be disqualified. 'Those who do not want to continue may resign the party and can move to TRS', he said.

MP Murali Mohan consoles GAIL victims

TDP MP Murali Mohan on Saturday consoled the family members of those killed in the other day's incident. He called on the injured persons at Hospitals. While expressing condolences, he said that the GAIL authorities have agreed to give a job to the eligible kith and kin of those killed in the ghasty incident.

Visakha Cooperative Central Bank director dies in road accident

PUNJAB: Visakha Co-operative Bank Director Venkata Raju died in a road accident in Punjab. Five other directors were injured in an accident. The incident occurred when they were travelling after attending National Cooperative Bank Training classes.

D Srinivas petitions to Assembly Secretary to disqualify five Congress MLCs

HYDERABAD: The leder of the Opposition in Telangana Counil D Srinivas met the Assembly secretary Sadaram and petitioned him to disqualify all those five Congress MLCs who joined TRS. He also submitted a petition to the Mandali Chairman Vidayasagara Rao. It may be recalled here that Congress MLCs Amos, Jagadiswhar Reddy, Bhanu Prasad, Rajalingam, Bhupal Reddy along with BSP MLAs Adilabad MLA Indra Kiran Reddy, Sirpur MLA Koneru Konappa joined TRS.
