- ACB arrested GHMC officials on corruption charges
HYDERABAD: The Anti-Corruption Bureau (ACB) on Thursday trapped a GHMC assistant city planner and a section officer when they were accepting bribe of Rs. 2 lakh from a complainant for sanctioning building permission. The two officials work at the GHMC (west zone ) Serilingampally office.

HYDERABAD: Telangana Television Development Forum urges the State government to start a new TV Channel for Telangana to help local talent showcase its potential and mirror the history, culture and traditions. The forum that comprise of television artistes, producers and technicians of Telangana have called for a series of measures to help improve the television industry and to support those live on it.
- A total 155 poor students to get admissions into corporate colleges
A total of 155 poorest of the poor students who passed the SSC examination in 2014 will be chosen for government sponsored Intermediate education scheme in corporate educational institutions, with an expenditure of Rs.1.8 crore, a press release from the Ranga Reddy Collectorate informed on Wednesday. Joint Collector M.V. Reddy, at a district level committee meeting on Wednesday, has asked the officials concerned to identify colleges with suitable infrastructure for the purpose. Proposals have been received from 12 private junior colleges for admission of poor students, he informed.

VISAKHAPATNAM: Union Minister for Civil Aviation, P Ashok Gajapati Raju said that he would make efforts to have more flights from Visakhapatnam airport. Speaking to press at the airport, he said that he will make his efforts for the development of airports in the country.
