- Panel on State Capital to meet Chief Minister
HYDERABAD: The expert committee on New Capital constituted by the Centre is coming to Hyderabad on June 14 for a meeting with the AP Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu. The committee headed by Sivaramakrishnan visited Visakhapatnam, Vijayawada, Guntur and Rajahmundry in May for identifying the new capital city and indicated then that it would visit other cities in the next visit in Rayalaseema.

VISAKHAPATNAM: Spice Jet has announced the launch of its 'Monsoon Sale' offering discounted flying options across the country with the fares starting as low as Rs.1,999. The sale is applicable on all flights including direct, via and onward from eight cities of South India. The cities covered under this offer are Visakhapatnam, Hyderabad, Chennai, Coimbatore, Kochi, Kozhikode, Bangalore and Mysore. The offer is valid for bookings made on Spice Jet's domestic network and the sale is applicable for bookings made between June 10 and 12 for travel between July 11 and September 30, 2014 according to a press release.
- Expert panel on Railway Zone to be formed
VISAKHAPATNAM: An expert committee is being appointed for achievement of a new railway zone with headquarters in Visakhapatnam. According to Ch.Ramakotaiah, president of Visakha, Viziangaram, Srikakulam Development Forum (VIVISRI) said that experts would be involved in the committed and they would prepare a memorandum and would be submitted to the Chief Minister on June 12. He said that interested persons can send their details to firstname.lastname@example.org for selection of representatives to meet the Chief Minister.
- Justice to Tsundur victims sought
VISAKHAPTNAM: The State and Central governments should file an appeal in the Supreme Court and ensure justice to the Dalits who were killed in the Tsundur massacre, said the left party leaders and Dalit organization at a roundtable meet held on Tuesday. CPI State assistant secretary JV Satyanarayana Murty said that the massacre of Dalits at Tsundur 24 years ago was registered merely as an 'attack' instead of filing an SC/ST atrocities case and a special court had sentenced 21 accused to life imprisonment. The accused moved to High Court and got a verdict in their favour. He said that such judgments would shake the confidence of the people.
- Advocate General and Additional AGs resigns
HYDERABAD: Andhra Pradesh Advocate General A Sudarshan Reddy and Additional AGs K.G.Krishnamurty and B Bhaskara Rao submitted resignations on Tuesday to the Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu. The Chief Minister requested them to continue till new appointments are made said sources.
- Madhusudanachari assumes charge as Speaker of Telangana Assembly
HYDERABAD: TRS MLA Madhusudanachari on Tuesday assumed charge as Speaker of Telangana Assembly following his election for the post unanimously.
Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao congratulating him on his election said that the services of Madhusudanachari in Telangana movement cannot be forgotten. He said that he was deeply involved in the movement even before the birth of TRS. CLP leader K Jana Reddy, TDP leader Talasani Srinivasa Yadav, BJP leader K Lakshman congratulated him. TDP Legislative Party leader Errabilli Dayakara Rao speaking on the occasion said that TDP would extend the full support to the Speaker.
- AP State Assembly sessions from June 19
HYDERABAD: Minister Bojjala Gopalakrishna Reddy speaking to media after meeting the Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu on Tuesday said that the Andhra Pradesh Assembly sessions would commence from June 19. He said that the first Cabinet meeting will be held at Andhra University Senate Hall in Visakhapatnam on June 12. Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao said that the government rule will be up to the expectations of the people.

HYDERABAD: Notification was issued on Tuesday for the election of Telangana Assembly Deputy Speaker. Nominations will be accepted by Wednesday and election will be held on Thursday. TRS has finalized according to reports the name of Medak MLA Padma Devender Reddy for the post.
