Solar Power parks to come up in Guntur and Anantapur
HYDERABAD: Andhra Pradesh Government is planning to set up solar power parks with an aggregate capacity of 1,300 MW in Guntur and Anantapur districts with the help of Central Government. In a meeting the Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu had with the power secretary, AP Transco Chairman and Managing Director and other officials at his Lake View Guest House on Thursday asked them to focus on solar power generation.

Nine hours free power to agriculture
Andhra Pradesh Government has decided to supply uninterrupted power supply round the clock and nine hours free supply to agriculture from October 2. The Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has instructed the officials to make available of the free power to agricultural sector from the existing 7 hours to 9 hours.

Retired Engineer-in-chief Kondala Rao appointed as technical advisor
HYDERABAD: AP Government has appointed retired Engineer in chief (Panchayat Raju) R Kondala Rao was appointed as technical advisor to National Rural drinking water project. He will give key suggestions to the government.

688 unmanned level crossings in united Andhra Pradesh
NEW DELHI: Union Minister for Railways for State Manoj Sinha said that there are 688 unmanned level crossings in the combined Andhra Pradesh. He said that there are 11,563 unmanned level crossings in the entire country. Gujarat places in the top with 2,140 followed by UP 1605, Rajasthan 1103, Bihar 978, West Bengal 799 and Tamil Nadu with 785.

Postal department releases stamps on Sachin Tendulkar
VIJAYAWADA: The Postal Department has released two stamps on Bharat Ratna and cricketer Sachin Tendulkar recently commemorating his 200 Test appearance. The stamps will be available at the Philately Bureau of the Head Post Office of I Town.

Chess Player Koneru Hampy donates Rs.2 lakhs
HYDERABAD: Former World junior champion and world No.3 Koneru Humpy donated Rs.2 lakhs to AP Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday as her contribution to raise funds for building a capital for Andhra Pradesh.

Chandrababu Naidu assures RBI on loan waiver
HYDERABAD: AP Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu has spoken to RBI Governor on Thursday Raghuram Rajan and urged the regulator to allow banks to reschedule crop loans as per rules. He clarified to the Government that the government is not encouraging default by farmers.

AP State Cabinet to meet tomorrow
HYDERABAD: Andhra Pradesh State Cabinet Committee will be meeting on Friday at 11am. Sources said that the cabinet will likely to discuss on registration, hike in land prices, New IT policy, sand mining policy along with Nativity issue.

Budget sessions will be either on August 16 or 18
HYDERABAD: Andhra Pradesh State Budget sessions will be convened either on August 16 or 18 and the Government plans to introduce budget on August 19. Chief Minster Nara Chandrababu Naidu said that after return of Speaker Dr.Kodela Siva Prasad, a decision will be announced.

TDP plans to field Minister Narayana to MLC
MLC election will be held on August 21 following the resignation of Kolagatla Veerabhadra Swamy who resigned on May 21.
TDP is planning to field P Narayana, Minister for Urban Development as he not a member either Assembly or Council.
A notification will be issued on August 4 and nominations have to be filed before August 11 and withdrawal is August 14 and if necessary election will be held on August 21.

HYDERABAD: BC Welfare Association leader R Krishnaiah has given a call for bandh of Engineering Colleges in both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana State over the delay in payment of tuition fee to the students.

HYDERABAD: Andhra Pradesh Government on Wednesday transferred to non-cadre SPs. Vigilance and Enforcement SP Ammireddy has been transferred as SP CID while Kurnool Additional SP (Administration)A Venkata Ratnam is posted as Intelligence Additional SP.

NELLORE: Minister for excise Kollu Ravindra said that village committees will be formed with the active participation of women for removal belt shops. He said cases have been booked on 1600 in connection with belt shops.

Telugu senior actor Sagiraju Rajam Raju (Mukku Raju) died
HYDERABAD: Tollywood actor Sagiraju Rajam Raju (Mukku Raju) on Thursday morning died due to ill health. He worked for more than 1000 films. He began his career in 1940. The final rites will be held on Friday at Cherukuvada village Vundi mandal in West Godavari.

ACB conducts raids on PCB senior engineer residences
VISAKHAPATNAM: Anti-Corruption Bureau officials on Thursday conducting raids on the residences of Senior Engineer of Pollution Control Board Korukonda Ramesh. They are conducting simultaneous raids at Visakhapatnam Viziangaram, Srikakulam and Khammam at his relatives’ residences.

ACB unearthed nearly Rs.70 crores of illegal assets. The agency conducted raids at his residences both in Andhra Pradesh and Telangna simultaneously. ACB found an oil factory at Pondur, three flats in Visakhapatnam 10 open plots, 10 acres of land, 4 bank accounts, 3 lockers.
