Huge haul of explosives seized
CHITOOR: The Yadamarri police on Thursday seized huge quantum of explosive material used in granite quarries at Varigapalli village. They raided the unauthorised godown in the early hours. The seized material included 660 gelatine sticks 15 bags of gunpowder and 70 bags of ammonium nitrate.
YSRCP TDP activists clash
KADAPA: Police arrested YSRCP MLA SB Amzath Basha and party men when they attempted to burn the effigy of Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu on Thursday alleging that he announced nominal benefit to farmers and DWCRA members. The police also arrested TDP leaders S Goverdhan Reddy and other activists when they attempted to burn an effigy of YSRCP president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy.
Fake vehicle permit racket busted
CHITOOR: The Palamaner police on Thursday arrested a three member gang on charges of creating fake national permits for vehicles and forgery. The police said that Salman Khan who worked as agents at the local TRO and Siva Prasad who ran printing press at Palamaner town had formed a gang in recent months to create fake national permits.
Bus driver was speaking on mobile that result in accident
HYDERABAD: The driver of the ill-fated school bus was speaking on his mobile phone while the vehicle was crossing the unmanned level crossing near Masipet on Thursday that led to the accident said railway authorities.

One killed and 8 persons injured in fireworks fire accident
WEST GODAVARI: In a blast at fireworks centre at Dharmapuram Agraharam near Akiveedi in West Godavari killed one person injuring eight more. The deceased is identified as Gotla Arunakumar. District Colelctor Ktamaneni Bhaskar, Undi MLA Sivaramaraju rushed the spot. MLA announced of Rs.2 lakhs ex-gratia to the deceased family and Rs.50,000 to the injured persons.
Special train service extended
The services of the pair of AC super-fast express special train between Visakhapatnam and Secunderabad have been extended by the railways to clear the extra rush of passengers.
Train No.02727 Visakhapatnam-Secunderabad special super-fast express will leave Visakhapatnam on Saturdays at 07.05pm on August 2, 9 and 16 and reach Secunderbad on the next day at 7.50am.
Train no.02728 Secunderabad-Visakhapatnam super-fast express will leave Secunderabad on Fridays at 10.10pm on August 1,8 and 15 and arrive Visakhapatnam on the next day at 10.35am.
