High Court dismisses petition filed on loan waiver
HYDERABAD: Andhra Pradesh High Court on Monday dismissed a petition filed by former MLA Adusumilli Jayaprakash seeking a direction of the Court to the State Governments of Telangana and Andhra Pradesh from moving ahead on the loan waiver scheme . The Court said that it cannot pass directions to the State Governments as it is a case of immature. A Division Bench comprising of Chief Justice Kalyan Jyothi Sengupta and Justice PV Sanjay Kumar dismissed the petition.
Congress flays KCR on Polavaram issue
HYDERABAD: The Congress has criticized Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao for shying away from opposing the Centre’s efforts for transferring seven mandals of Khammam district to Andhra Pradesh. Congress leader Mohammed Ali Shabbir said on Monday that Chandrasekhara Rao is aware of the fact that it is he who had sought de-merger of AP to pre-November 1, 1956.
Government transfers senior officers
HYDERABAD: The AP State Government has transferred Rajesh Tiwari, Principal Secretary, School Education and posted him as Principal Secretary, General Administration Department (Political) in the existing vacancy. The government also transferred Adhar Singh, Commissioner, and Intermediate Education and posted him as additional charge Principal Secretary for School Education, Primary Education and SSA.
Pratyush Singh panel to meet again
HYDERABAD: The Pratyush Singh Committee that met at Delhi on Monday will meet again in a week or ten days for finalization of guidelines for distribution of All India Officers between Andhra Pradesh and Telangana. Chief Secretaries of both Andhra Pradesh and Telangana attended the meeting.
Siri Gold Farms and Resorts MD arrested
Kavali One Town police on Monday arrested the Siri Gold Farms and Resorts Managing Director Sundaram.
It may be recalled here that he accepted deposits to the tune of Rs.95 crore during 2008 to 2013 period from the people belong to Nellore, Prakasam, Chitoor, Karnataka and Tamil Nadu and failed to repay the deposits even after maturity. The action of the police comes in the wake of complaints from depositors. He was arrested when he came to Kavali on Monday on the job of registration to flat owners was arrested by the police. The inspector said that he will be produced before the court.

No assurance was given on loan-reschedule’, says RBI Deputy Governor
HYDERABAD: Reserve Bank of India Deputy Governor Dr. Urjit Patel Gandhi clarified that the RBI has not given any assurance on re-schedule of farm loans. He said that the RBI only wanted the two governments to come with details, said Patel Gandhi.
YSRCP leaders submit memorandum to Collector on Muppalla incident
GUNTUR: YSRCP leaders Umareddy Venkateswarulu, Jyotula Nehru, Amabati Rambabu, Marri Rajasekhar, Lella Appireddy, MLAs Mustafa, Pinnelli Ramakrishna Reddy met the Guntur District Collector and submitted a memorandum to him on Muppalla attack incident. They wanted the Collector to investigate into the entire episode. They said that it is unfortunate that such an incident happened at the home town of the Speaker of the AP Assembly.
Telangana Government approaches Supreme Court on EAMCET
HYDERABAD: Telangana State Government on Monday filed a petition in Supreme Court seeking some more time for conduct of EAMCET counseling. It may be recalled that the AP HRD Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao announced on Sunday that medical counseling would commence from August 5. He also announced of the intention of the government to approach the Supreme Court in event of no response from Telangana Government on the issue.
Red sanders would be auctioned’, says Ministers for Forests Bojjala Gopalakrishna Reddy
HYDERABAD: AP Minister for Forests Bojjala Gopala Krishna Reddy said that the State Government had got permission to auction the red sanders in go downs. Speaking to press on Monday, he said that 8,584 mts of red sanders will be auctioned and the Government is inviting e-tenders through globally. The Minister said that in the first phase, 4,000 mts will be auctioned and e-option system would be introduced in the entire process.
High Court orders for issuance of notices to GAIL and Central Government
HYDERABAD: The AP High Court on Monday ordered to serve notices to Gas Authority of India Ltd., (GAIL), Ministry of Petroleum in the gas leakage incident at Nagaram village of Mamidikuduru mandal of East Godavari district in which 21 persons lost lives. It may be recalled here that the tragic incident that happened on June 27.
High Court cancels bail to Gangireddy
