Police picks up Ramky CFO Vijaya Rami Reddy on financial fraud
HYDERABAD: The Punjagutta police have arrested a former Chief Financial Officer of Ramky Infrastructure Ltd on the charges of allegedly misappropriating of firms’ money. Administrative Officer of Ramky Infrastructure lodged a complaint to the police alleging that Vijaya Rami Reddy has siphoned Rs.23 lakhs. The CFO is a cousin of Ramky Group Chairman A Ayodya Rami Reddy. The police booked a case under Sec.420, 406 and 506.
Special prayers offered to propitiate rain God
VIJAYAWADA: On Sunday, people from different communities conducted special prayers for rains at different places in the city. Sree Vijayawada Gujarati Samaj conducted Siddha Chakra Maha Puja at Guajarati Vidyalaya School, nearly 600 Muslims gathered at Sanathanagar Idgah to offer special prayers. The Sidda Chakra Maha Puja was conducted for rains, peace and prosperity of the society. 51 couples performed special puja that commenced at 10am and culminated at 3.30pm.
SIM cards for Haj pilgrims with officials’ numbers
HYDERABAD: The Central Haj Committee will provide food to the pilgrims in Madeenah Munnawarah in Saudi Arabia so that they can spend their time in prayers and supplications. Special Officer, State Haj Committee, SA Shukoor said on Sunday that the Committee will provide free SIM cards with all necessary numbers of important officials and institutions to pilgrims. They will also be provided with ten litres of Zam Zam water cans on their arrival at the Hyderabad airport. He said that so far 293 Haj applicants form the waiting list were provisionally selected for Haj 2014.
‘Expedite the process of red sanders sale’, says Minster Bojjala Gopalakrishna Reddy
TIRUPATI: Minister for Environment and Forests Bojjala Gopalakrishna Reddy on Sunday directed the officials to expedite the process of sale of red sanders. He inspected the Chittor East DFO godown and asked the officials to make necessary arrangements to dispose off the precious red sanders logs housed in there. He held a meeting with the officials on several issues and said works such as construction of check dams, sapling planting and fencing would be made to the existing Forest Acts for safeguarding the forest wealth’, he said.
‘Interstate bus services to Andhra Pradesh paralysed
KHAMMAM: Following stir by the anti-Polavaram struggle committee, the inter State bus services between Bhadrachalam and various places in Andhra Pradesh remained paralysed on Sunday, the second day of the 72 hour ‘bus roko’. The committee has been spearheading the agitation in association with the ‘all party’ division committee to press for revocation of the Centre’s ordinance on Polavaram submergence-prone mandals in Khammam.

‘Loan Waiver may not be complete but up to satisfaction’, says KE Krishna Murty

‘Police imposes ban of consumption of liquor in public places
HYDERABAD: The Hyderabad City Police Commissioner P Mahender Reddy said in a release that consumption of liquor in public places is already illegal. A release said that it is considered necessary to take speedy measures in this direction, an order issued under Sec.144 of CPC would be in force from July 5 to July 11.
‘Vanasthalipuram realtor Venkata Reddy commits suicide
HYDERABAD: Vanasthalipuram realtor Venkata Reddy who went on missing for the last three days was found murdered. A suicide note said that he committed suicide due to tortures of police and political leaders. Though the family members lodged a complaint, no action was taken and they even went to State Human Rights Commission. The dead body was found at a guest house at Hiyatnagar.
