Full Bench to decide on High Court of Andhra Pradesh
HYDERABAD: The issue of jurisdiction of Hyderabad High Court and formation of separate High Court for Andhra Pradesh will now be decided by a full Bench comprising three judges of Hyderabad High Court. The Bench is likely to hear the arguments in the next week. It may be recalled here that a single judge had indicated that the issue of jurisdiction is to be decided and called for response from the Centre. The matter had been referred to a full Bench when an application was moved questioning the jurisdiction of the single judge on the issue.

Andhra Pradesh Government urges Centre intervention
HYDERABD: Andhra Pradesh Government has urged the Centre to keep Market Intervention Fund at the disposal of the State Government and make Essential Commodities Act more stringent. Speaking at a conference of Ministers of Consumer Affairs of States/UTs held at Delhi on Friday, the Commissioner of Civil Supplies Sanjay Jaju said at the conference. He requested the Centre to resume supplies of red gram dal and palmolein in the State and suggested adequate storage facilities be created.

Vice-Chancellors’ meet
VISAKHAPATNAM: Andhra University is hosting the first meeting of Vice-Chancellors of universities located in all the 13 districts of Andhra Pradesh on Saturday to discuss the issues relating to higher Education according to AU Vice Chancellor GSN Raju. The Minister for HRD Ganta Srinivasa Rao will preside over the meeting.

YSRCP demands suspension of Sub-Inspector
GIDDALUR: YSRCP has demanded the suspension of Giddalur Sub-Inspector for his alleged high-handed and partisan attitude that led to the death of its leader Bhaskar Reddy. YSRCP, Giddalur MLA M Ashok Reddy said on Friday that the Sub-Inspector had behaved rudely in the police station resulting to death of the party leader.

P Seshadri gets another extension
TIRUMALA: P Seshadri popularly known as ‘Dollar’ Seshadri presently working as Officer-on Special Duty at the temple of Lord Venkateswara is all set to get another two years of extension. The TTD Executive Officer, MG Gopal issued orders extending the services of Seshadri until a decision was taken at the next meeting of the TTD Board of Trustees.

State askes GAIL to restore gas supply to Lanco
RAJAHMUNDRY: The State Government has asked the Gas Authority of India Ltd., to see alternatives to restore gas supply to Lanco power generation unit in Vijayawada as the State is badly in need of power. GAIL sources said that it has engaged Engineers India Ltd., (EIL) to conduct health and safety check and the integrity of its pipeline system in the Krishna-Godavari basin. Sources said that GAIL is contemplating supplying gas to Lanco via GVK station at Jegurupadu in East Godavari through its alternative line and it was also subject to approval form EIL team.

Jagan faults the T-Government decision of resuming land allotted to APNGOs
YSRCP president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy faulted the Telangana Government decision of resuming of land allotted to APNGOs.

Raising serious objection over the Telangana Government decision of resuming back of the lands allotted to APNGOs, Jagan Mohan Reddy said that NGOs have spent huge amount in making roads, electricity and other amenities. He demanded the Telangana Government to immediately handover the land allotted to APNGOs. He said that the party will stand by the APNGOs in the issue. He wanted the Chief Minster Nara Chandrababu Naidu to interfere in the issue.

Price hike in cooking gas likely by Rs.250
Sources said that the Central Government is planning to hike the price of cooking gas by Rs.250. In line with the recommendations of Kirit Parikh, a committee constituted by Government of India on ‘Pricing methodology of Diesel, Domestic LPG and PDS Kerosene has reportedly recommended a hike in price of diesel by 0.40 to 0.50 paisa a month while that of cooking gas by Rs.250.

Two TDP MPTCs kidnapped
AGIRIPALLI (Krishna dist.): TDP cadre demanded postponement of the MPTC election in the back drop of two of the party MPTCs Srinivasa Rao, Vijita were kidnapped. Out of 18 MPTCs, both TDP and YSRCP have equal strength. The TDP leaders in a memorandum to the Election officer wanted to stay the process till they are found.

Sarayu River tragedy-dead bodies handed over
The bodies of two priests who drowned in Sarayu River in Ayodhya were retrieved on Thursday. The victims, O. Chakrapani and P. Kiran, who were part of a group which went from the city to participate in a religious programme, reportedly ventured into the river to take a bath and drowned. Local authorities in Ayodhya handed over the bodies to the family members after conducting a post-mortem.

Revenue officer arrested on charges of Rs.3 crore land scam
GUNTUR: Police have arrested Revenue Officer Chandrasekhara Raju on Friday on charges of his alleged involvement in Rs.3 crore land scam at Pedakakakni. He was alleged to have been involved while he was working as Tashildar in creating fake Pattadar pass books and alleged involved land scam. Presently, he is working at Kandkur RDO office in Prakasam district.

Chennai ‘Trust Heights’ tragedy death toll rises to 61
The death toll has risen to 61 as on Thursday with many more bodies are suspected to have been under the debris. The chances of survivors are reported to be very bleak. However, the rescue teams could save 27 persons and are being treated at various hospitals.

ANANTAPURAM: Yellanur YSRCP party leader and former MPTC Prakasam Setty ws murdered by some unidentified persons with sickles.

HYDERABAD: Telangana State Council Deputy chairman Neti Vidyasagar Rao is joining TRS party on Friday in presence of TRS chief K Chandrasekhara Rao.

AirCoasta begins operations from Vijayawada to Chennai
VIJAYAWADA: AirCoasta launches its service from Vijayawada to Chennai via Hyderabad on Friday. The flight LB 667 takes off at Vijayawada airport at 7.45am in the morning and arrives at Chennai at 10.20. The flight No. LB 656 will take off at Chennai at 19.45 and arrives at Vijayawada at 21.55. Gannavaram Airport director BG Patil inaugurated the flight. AirCoasta is already running a flight between Vijayawada to Bangalore.
