- TDP MLA Uma alleges Jagan cooperating for division in the guise of internationalist
TDP leader Devineni Uma Maheswar Rao alleged that Jaganmohan Reddy is extending cooperation for the division of the State in the guise of internationalist. Speaking at the Assembly media point, he said till yesterday they were demanding a resolution for unified State and now they want voting on the division of the State, he alleged. He said that by having a debate and defeating the resolution, it can stand in the courts, he opined. If voting takes place, there are 159 MLAs prepared to defeat the bill and Jagan Mohan Reddy wants to reduce the number, he said.
- CAT directs Centre to allot Swetha IPS probationer to State of Andhra Pradesh
Central Administrative Tribunal (CAT) bench comprising of Justice P Swaroop Reddy and R Chowdary, member (administration) quashed an order of the Centre that allotted N Swetha, an IPS probationer to the Karnataka cadre and directed it to allot her to Andhra Pradesh cadre within six weeks. The bench on Wednesday directed the Centre to send her to Andhra Pradesh for the district training programme set to commence on January 13. These orders came following the complainant moved the CAT questioning the Centre's decision to Karnataka cadre as unlawful as she conveyed her preference for her native state of Andhra Pradesh and was violative of the insider-outsider ratio to be followed by the authorities, she contended.
- Regional Rural Banks to go on strike
Regional Rural Banks in the Country will go on a two day strike on January 20 and 21 in protest against reforms in the banking sector and privatization. National Rural Banks president Sagun Sukla announced the same on Thursday. 76,000 employees in the 57 banks will participate in the strike, he said.

A Mumbai dancer brought to the city to perform a dance programme on the eve of New Year was allegedly raped Police arrested one Shakeel who had booked a flight ticket to her to reach Hyderabad. The incident was allegedly committed on the intervening night of December 31 and January 1, 2014. It is alleged that four persons violated here after she landed at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport in Shashabad. ACP of Shahabad J Bhadreshwar said that no rape case was reported in the police station limits. He said that the Mumbai police says that the incident had occurred somewhere in Hyderabad, he said.
- Another political outfit emerges -T-YSRP registered
The Election Commission has registered Telangana Yuvajana Shramika Rajyam Party (TYSRP) as a political party in Andhra Pradesh.The Election Commission in a communication to the T-YSR party president Kothuri Satya Raju said that they had registered under section 29A of the Representation of People Act, 1951.The party flag have a close resemblance to the YSRCP. Raju said that he is the fan of YSR and there many more people like him in Telangana.
- CPI to contest five Lok Sabha and 45 Assembly seats
Communist Party of India (CPI) State Secretary K Narayana speaking to press on Thursday said in Khammam that it will contest in 5 Lok Sabha and 45 Assembly seats in the ensuing general elections. He said that it will concentrate on 7 assembly constituencies expect Sattupalli, Madhira and Illendu. He said that the party had not discussed on alliance with any parties.
- CID officials arrest four accused in Palem bus accident
CID officials from Hyderabad on Thursday arrested four persons from Jabbar Travels in Bangalore in connection with the Palem bus incident in which 45 persons were burnt alive. Sources said that the arrested are Shabbir, Akram, Amanlla Sharif and Md.Razak. The first three are the partners while the rest one was a travel agent, said sources. All the arrested are being shifted to Hyderabad. It may be recalled that Jamal Jabbar is still absconding.
- YSRCP president flays suspension party MLAs
YSRCP president YS Jagan Mohan Reddy addressing a public meeting as part of Samaikhya Sankaravam at Piler in Chittoor district launched a tirade against the Chief Minster and TDP president alleging them for resorting to unethical politics. He questioned the Congress government as to how it could suspend the MLAs of the PARTY without valid reasons. He deplored that the ruling government was acting in an autocratic manager by arresting the party MLAs.
- Some more Maoists want to follow footsteps of Usendi', says DGP
Director General of Police (DGP) B Prasada Rao presenting Gunda Usendi, Dandakaranya special zone committee secretary who surrendered to the AP Police a couple of days ago said that some more Maoists are keen in surrendering themselves and follow the footsteps of Usendi. He said that efforts were on to facilitate the surrender of Maoists who wanted to give themselves up. He appealed them to surrender and assured that government will take all steps for their rehabilitation.
- National Horticulture Expo from February 13
The National Horticulture Expo-2014 will be organized at the Nizam College grounds in Hyderabad from February 13 to 17. The department of Horticulture will exhibit variety of fruits, vegetables, flowers and ornamental plants from different parts of the State and other states across the country according to a release.
- Industrialist Anji Reddy joins BJP
C Anji Reddy, an industrialist from Patancheru joined the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday in the presence of party national president Rajnath Singh. Before joining to BJP, he worked with Praja Rajyam Party (PRP) and YSRCP.
