    Youth committed suicide for the cause of Samikhayndhra
    A youth committed suicide by hanging himself from a fan at a lodge in Hosepeta in Nellore district on Tuesday. According to police one Vakati Srinivasulu Reddy (37) who is running a welding shop in Kavali came out of his home on January 7. He stayed in a lodge and the housekeeping staff found foul smell informed the same to the police. They break open the doors and found him hanging from a fan. They found a suicide note addressed to the Chief Minister, Chandrababu Naidu and Jagan urging them not to divide the State ending the letter with Jai Samikhayndhra slogans.
    Head Master arrested for misbehaviour:
    Krishna Naik, Head Master of Mandal Parishad High School at Mahadevapalle in Chakrayapeta mandal in Kadapa was arrested for allegedly misbehaving with a woman teacher. He was produced in Lakkireddipalli magistrate court and was remanded to judicial custody.
    Woman constable commits suicide:
    A woman constable working in Kadapa One Town police station committed suicide by hanging herself in her house a Maruthinagar on Tuesday. She resorted to the extreme step due to alleged dowry harassment by her husband according to Kadapa police.
    Seven girl sexually assaulted:
    In Chittoor district, Madanapalle rural police on Tuesday took Muskin (55) in the custody at Babu Colony on charges of sexually assaulting a seven year old girl of the same colony. He used to lure the child with chocolates, said police. On Tuesday, he picked her up to an abandoned building and on hearing her shrieks the locals rushed to her rescue and handed him to police.
    Bangalore Volvo bus driver gets bail:
    Venkatappa, the driver of the Volvo bus that met an accident near Hoskote on Sunday was granted bail on Monday when he was produced before the magistrate. It may be recalled that five persons including a pregnant woman and a six year old boy were killed injuring to 28 passengers.

  • Auto rickshaw drivers call of strike
    The Auto rickshaw drivers' Union on Tuesday night called off their three day old strike following talks with the RTA commissioner. The RTA Commissioner has assured the delegations that GO No. 108 will be reconsidered by bringing the fine from Rs.1,000 to Rs.100 and assured the delegation to increase the fare from Rs.16 to Rs.20 and increase the fare per additional kilometre from Rs.9 to Rs.11.The Minimum charge will be Rs.20 from February 1, 2014.
  • Bollywood actress Sameera Reddy weds Akshai Varde
    Bollywood actress Sameera Reddy will be tying the knot with her fiance Akshai Varde on Tuesday night. However, the marriage details are kept secret. The two got engaged in a private ceremony at Sameera Bandra residence recently and had initially finalised their wedding in April. Buss is that since Akshai will be busy with his business expansion plans later, the couple had to pre-pone their wedding to this month.
  • Police permits APNGOs to orgranize Chalo Hyderabad programme
    The Hyderabad Central Zone police on Tuesday permitted the APNGOs proposed 'Chalo Hyderabad' programme on January 22 with conditions. It may be recalled that APNGOs president P Ashok Babu speaking media assured the police that any untoward incidents would take place as it is not 'Chalo Assembly' but 'Chalo Hyderabad' a dhrana programme demanding the State to be kept united.
    Hyderabad Police Commissioner Anurag Sharma said that permission with 18 conditions was given to APNGOs. They should organize the dharna at Indira Park and the protesters should not go towards Assembly side and stage protests and dharnas. They should complete the agitation programme before 5pm are some of them.
    DCP Kamalasan Reddy said that the APNGOs have given assurance that all precautions would be taken to prevent any untoward incidents. An undertaking has been given to this effect, said the DCP.

    APCPDCL that conducted examination for the post of junior assistants in 2012 have announced the results recruiting 249 candidates following the verdict of High Court.
  • Auto rickshaws were off the road in twin cities
    With the indefinite strike launched by auto unions demanding a revision in the present fare, abolition of GO 108 and others authorickshaws were off the road on the third day on Monday. Auto Drivers Unions JAC on Sunday burnt the effigy of the Government on Sunday at RTC X roads. General Secretary of A.P.Auto Drivers Samaikya said that BJP Mahila Morcha and other political parties have extended their support to the on-going strike. They would conduct a Chalo Assembly programme from Sundaraih Park to Assembly demanding the government address auto drivers long-pending issues.
  • TRS MLA KT Rama Rao speaks on AP State Reorganization Bill 2013
    Participating in the discussion on the AP State Reorganization Commission Bill 2012, TRS MLA K.T.Rama Rao said that a discussion was held at the time of Andhra Pradesh State formation and no voting was held. KTR said that in the first SRC too there was no mention of linguistic basis and Fazal Committee too not mentioned, he said. He said that Dr. Ambedkar said one language, one state but never said to have more than one States, said KTR. He said that Orissa was formed as the first linguistic State in 1936. He said Parliament has accepted the gentlemen's agreement but not the Congress as being said by Seemandhra leaders. On having consensus for division did not necessary to be united, questioned KTR. At this stage also to keep the State united is nothing but deceiving the people, he said. Out of 18 Universities in the State, he said 7 in Telangana and 11 in Seemandhra. KTR said they could show innumerable reasons for division but can they show one reason to be united, he questioned. He said when there are two leaders for nine lakh employed force, what is wrong in having two States when there are nine crore people, he said.
  • MIM MLA Akbar Owaisi speaks on draft Bill
    Participating in the debate on the AP State Reorganization Bill 2012, MIM leader Akbaruddin Owaisi said that great injustice had been done to Muslims and in the event of division of the State, there will not be any security for them. He said that the sentiments of Muslims were not taken into consideration in the proposed division of the State. He demanded that Urdu should be made second official language in the new State. He is opposing the decision as it has been taken on political grounds. He said that 42 per cent Muslims in Hyderabad area purview and 32 per cent in GHMC purview but the losses on account of the division were not taken care of, he alleged. He said that all parties have shouldered the issue only to get political mileage, alleged Owaisi. He said that though the party is against the way in which the division is going ahead but are for creation of separate Telangana State.
  • Notification of Rajya Sabha elections announced
    The Election Commission of India on Tuesday announced its notification for election to 55 Rajya Sabha seats in 16 States will be held on 7th of next month. The states include Maharashtra, Tamil Nadu, West Bengal, Bihar, Andhra Pradesh, Assam, Gujarat and Manipur. Nominations will be accepted from today to January 28 scrutiny will be taken up on January 29 and withdrawals if any on January 30.
  • TDP leader Vamsi complaints to DGP on IG Seetharamanjaneyulu
    Vijayawada TDP urban president Vallabhaneni Vamsi has complained to the DGP against IG (Greyhounds) PSR Anjaneylu that the latter is planning to eliminate him physically with the help of a former naxal. Vamsi also complained to the Vijayawada Commissioner of Police. It may be recalled here that there were differences between these two when PSR Anjaneylu worked at Vijayawada as Commissioner of Police way back in 2011 and was transferred following levelling allegation of sex scandals on him. Vamsi sought an appointment with the Chief Minister and planning to lodge a complaint.
