Customs officials at the Rajiv Gandhi International Airport at Shamshabad in Hyderabad seized over one kg of gold on Tuesday from three passengers and were detained. Air Intelligence Wing of Customs found 333 gms of gold bar that was concealed in a secret pouch of his trousers from a passenger arrived from Bangkok. They also seized 231 gms and 468 gms of crude gold from and an elderly man and daughter in-law who came from Dubai.
Kadapa former counsellor Koneru Nagender has filed a case against Tollywood actor Ram Charan for his movie 'Evadu' that was released recently alleging that it contained indecent scenes. Yemmiganur police have registered a case under IPC section 292 against Ramcharan along with five others.
Common Admission Test (CAT) convenor Rohit Kapoor said that the CAT results will be available on the website. The CAT 2013 was conducted in 76 centres across 40 cities over a 20 day testing window form October 16 to November 11, 2013.CAT conducted the examination for entering into 13 Indian Institute of Managements and several other management institutes.
A gang of nine men who were arrested ten days ago all of them from Salem district from Tamil Nadu confessed that they raped 59 women in the last two years. Police said that they operated across the states of Tamil Naidu, Andhra Pradesh and Karnataka. Five of their accomplices are in jail in Karnataka in connection with robbery cases. Chittoor district Superintend of Police PHD Ramakrishna said that the gang had confessed to have murdered two of their own accomplices including its former leader and their bodies have been recovered. Police sources said that 16 cases are on record and in others the victims appeared to have not filed complaints. Investigation is going on said, police sources.
The State Government has banned the manufacture and sale of Gutka in the State for one year. The ban of manufacture and sale of Gutka is banned under the Food Security Act 2006 Sec.30 (2) is already in the States. The State Government has extended for one year after the expiry of the time limit.
Former Test Cricket player VVS Lakshman who is the brand ambassador of the Hyderabad Traffic Police said on Monday that Driving is not just a privilege but a serious responsibility. Speaking at a programme organized the traffic police to launch the films, he advised motorists to be more responsible road users not only for their sake but for others. The short film is to spread awareness about the common traffic violations reported in the city such as not wearing seat belts, using mobiles on drive, jumping red signals, drink driving and triple riding. DGP B Prasada Rao highlighted the need of following traffic rules and imparting it from school level itself. City Police Commission Anurag Sharma participated among other dignitaries.
