Jammalamadugu Municipal Chairman and vice-chairman elections on July 13

Jammalamadugu was put off due to law and other problems leading to firing and alleged kidnap of a councillor, it will be held on July 13 at 11am.

The State Election Commission deputed the Joint Collector M Rama Rao as the presiding officer for the election. The councillor Mulla Jani was alleged to have been kidnapped gave a statement before the Kadapa Fourth Town Additional Civil Judge that he was not kidnapped by anyone but had gone on a tour to Goa as he was not informed of the elections.

The police provided security cover with four gunmen to the councillor until the elections process was completed. It may be recalled here that his mother Noorjehan who was an elected councillor on TDP ticket filed a complaint with the police that her son was kidnapped by YSRCP.
