Two killed in police firing in Hyderabad

Police imposed curfew on Wednesday at Rajendranagar in Hyderabad following stone throwing by two communities at Kishan Bagh.

Two persons were reported killed in the firing. Cyberabad police Commissioner CV Anand said that police imposed Sec. 144 and requested the people to maintain restraint. He said that the situation is under the control and asked the political leaders not to visit the tension prone Kishan Bagh. He said that efforts are on to trace out the culprits who are responsible for the attacks. Police forces including CRPF have been requisitioned to maintain law and order situation.

Trouble broke out near Sikh Chawni near Bahadurpura, adjacent to the Old City, after miscreants burnt a religious flag in the early hours of Wednesday. Tension gripped the area as members of a community attacked two youths blaming them for the flag burning incident.

Police were forced to open fire to disburse the unruly mob and two persons were killed in the incident. It is reported that at least 10 private vehicles were burnt in the violent incidents. The mob pelted stones on the Cyberabad Police Joint Commissioner Gangadhar while his vehicle was moving in the area. A video camera mounted on the police vehicle was destroyed.
