High Court refuses relief to Actor and producer Mohan Babu in Padma Shri title issue

The Andhra Pradesh High Court on Wednesday refused to modify its earlier order that directed the Union Home Ministry to recommend to the President to take back the Padma Sri title bestowed on Telugu actor and producer Mohan Babu.
Following the directions form a Division Bench to the actor to file a compliance report, Mohan Babu informed the bench that the earlier order was duly followed. His counsel urged the bench to modify its earlier order. However, the bench closed the case but said that the actor is free to air his grievance in the Supreme Court.
It may be recalled here that a Division Bench of AP High court here on February 4 directed the Union Home Ministry to submit a report to the President of India withdrawing 'Padma Sri' to actor and producer Mohan Babu. The Court said that the President will take a final on the issue. The court directed Mohan Babu should not use 'Padma Sri' title till a final decision by the President.
Earlier, a Division Bench of the AP High Court comprising of Chief Justice Kalyan Jyothi Sen Gupta and Justice PV Sanjay Kumar on took on record another case against Mohan Babu, cine actor and producer. It may be recalled here that BJP senior leader N Indrasena Reddy who had filed a writ petition earlier complaint that the tile was used as prefix by Mohan Babu and Brahmanandam in Telugu film 'Denikaina Ready' and the Court expressed displeasure of it and directed to remove 'Padma Shri' word from all the negative prints and also public material. Indrasena Reddy filed material regarding the film 'Jhummandi Naadam' that showed the actor and producer Mohan Babu as sole proprietor of the film and the tiles showed word 'Padma Shri' before his name.
