Health Minister held talks with striking junior doctors
August 22, 2014 - Hyderabad
Andhra Pradesh Health Minister Kamineni Srinivasa Rao on Friday held talks with the striking junior doctors of Sri Venkateswara Medical College and assured them in principle to withdraw GO.No.78.
The striking junior doctors however responding over the Minister’s assurance assured him that a final call will be taken after consultations with their members on Saturday morning.
It may be recalled here that the Junior Doctors were protesting for revocation of GO.No.78 and transfer of the facility to rightful owners (S.V. Medical College and Ruia Hospital). They further said transferring the 300-bed facility, built with funds from the National Rural Health Mission (NRHM), to a private entity would add to the burden of the common man.
