Chandrababu Naidu defends Governor role in law and order
August 9, 2014 - Hyderabad
Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu on Saturday defended the action of the Centre in entrusting the law and order to the Governor saying that it was what was spelt in the AP State Reorganization Act, 2014.
Naidu took exception of the Telangana Chief Minister K Chandrasekhara Rao’s comment that Narendra Modi as fascist and said that it was highly objectionable.
Telangana Government’s rejection is on three counts and the first one is that the maintenance of law and order is a State subject, secondly, Section 8 of the Act stipulated that the Governor should act on the advice of the Council of Ministers and the third is that the State will implement any Central law but not the contents of letter that specify norms.
