Governor orders CID probe in PGMET alleged irregularities

Governor ESL Narasimhan has ordered a CID probe into the alleged irregularities in Post Graduate Medical Entrance Test (PGMET).
The one man committed headed by the Andhra Pradesh State Council for Higher Education (APSCHE) chairman L Venugopal Reddy which was appointed by the Government to probe into the irregularities. The report submitted by the committee reported suggested for a CID probe in the entire issues as it has a number of players in the entire network. It may be recalled here that nearly 15,000 students have taken up the examination held on March 2 for nearly 2,240 seats.
CID begins job
Immediately after the government order, the officials of CID began questioning officials as part of the probe. They questioned the Registrar of NTR University of Health Sciences that conducted the examination. A three member CID team has questioned the NTR Health University Registrar S Babulal. Another team is said to have started from Bangalore to question the paper printer and enquire whether they had any role in the allegations that were levelled by the aspirants. Ten teams have been formed and raids are being conducted at different levels.
