Governor clears three names for Council leaving Raghuram Reddy

March 3, 2014 - Hyderabad

Governor ESL Narasimhan is understood to have cleared the names of Nandi Yellaiah, T Ratna Bai and Kantethi Satyanarayana Raju for the nomination to the Legislative Council under Governor's quota.

The former Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy had sent the proposal to fill up the posts recommending the name of his close aide Raghuram Reddy including the three above. Governor reportedly directed the Chief Secretary to take action for the three names ignoring of Raghuram Reddy.

Kiran Reddy in his letter to the Governor before putting his papers that he had recommended the names under Article 171 (3)(E)in keeping with various judgements and reportedly mentioned them.

However, Governor left the name of Raghuram Reddy and orders from the Government is expected once the Election Commission gives nod for the same in view of model code of conduct.
