Government gives green signal to regularise 24,577 contract staff in APSRTC

The State Government has given nod for filling a total of 24,577 vacancies that includes 9,920 conductors and 14,657 drivers in the APSRTC. It has release a GO.

Response to notice served

It may be recalled here that the ASPSRTC Employees Union that is a recognised body and Telangana Mazdoor Union served notice on December 20 seeking to go on strike on or after January 3 and NMU has served notice on December 21 and some more unions also threated to go on strike seeking regularization of the contractual staff.

Vice Chairman and MD J Purnachandra Rao welcomed the action of the Government and expressed happiness that it happened to be the very first order from the government in the New Year. He said that the Corporation has filled up 15,441 vacancies by regularizing the services of contact workers and fixing them on timescale.
