Government fixes December 31, 2013 as cut off for loan waiver scheme

The State Government had put December 31, 2013 as the cutoff date for getting eleigibility for loan waiver under which loans taken for crop and agricultural gold loans for agricultural purposes.GO No. 181 issued:The Finance Secretary L Premachandra Reddy on Monday issued a Government Order Ms.181. The order said that crop loans and agricultural gold loans disbursed for crop purposes only including loans converted due to calamities up to December 31, 2013 and outstanding including interest were eligible under the scheme. It said that even if the loan were subsequently repaid to the bank/cooperative are also eligible for loan waiver. The State Government had asked the banks branches and Primary Agriculture Cooperative Societies to report to it the outstanding balance as on December 31, 2013.
Andhra Pradesh State Government on Monday handed over the responsibility of construction of Metro Rail job in Visakhapatnam and Vijayawada to the Delhi Metro Rail Corporation (DMRC).
The State Government has appointed Chief Advisor to DMRC E.Sridharan as the advisor to the AP Metro Rail Project. This decision was taken by the Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu in a meeting he had with Sridharan. Naidu announced the government’s intentions to set up metro rail projects in Visakhapatnam and VGTM (Vijayawada, Guntur, Tenali and Mangalagiri) area.
The Chief Minister wanted Sridharan to complete both the projects in three and half year’s time and wanted him to prepare a feasibility report for a rail based mass rapid transit system.
Sridharan assured the Chief Minister that the DMRC would support and assist the State Government in every way possible.
