GO soon making Government service mandatory for trainee doctors,

The Minister for Health and Medical Education Kamineni Srinivas said on Monday that the Government will shortly issue an order on the contentious issue of compulsory government service for trainee doctors.
Speaking at the Meet the Press conducted by Andhra Pradesh Working Journalists Federation, Guntur district, he said that it would address some contentious issues in the existing GO. Under the GO 107, doctors who have completed graduation, Post Graduate, diploma and super specialty courses have to furnish a bond stating that they would work in the government hospitals for a year within a maximum period of 18 months after obtaining degree.
Violation leads to disciplinary action:
The minister said that any violation of the bond condition, a penalty of Rs.15 lakh for diploma holders and Rs.20 lakh for PG degree candidates. He said that they would be liable for disciplinary action too.
