GHMC Mayor Masjid Hussain inaugurates 'Five Rupees Meals Scheme'

Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) Mayor Masjid Hussain along with Commissioner Somesh Kumar on Sunday inaugurated meals for Rs.5 scheme at Nampally Sarai.
Masjid Hussain said that the scheme is started with Rs.11 crores meant to serve means to 15,000 people a day. The facility will be extended to 50 centres in Hyderabad and each centre can serve means for 300 people. He said that the meals that cost Rs.20 and the difference of will be borne by GHMC.
GHMC in partnership with Akshaya Patra Foundation run by Hare Krishna movement would serve the food. The vegetarian meal of rice, dal/sambar, sabji and pickle shall be served on first-come-first-serve basis in paper plates during 12 noon to 1 pm.
