GHMC Mayor Masjid Hussain resigns

Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation Mayor Masjid Hussain on Friday resigned for the post. He handed over the resignation letter to the GHMC Commissioner Somesh Kumar. He said that he resigned the post in tune with the directions of the party.
Masjid Hussain said that during the 26 months of his stay as Mayor, he never burdened the people in any manner. He brought the Corporation into profits while clearing off Rs.572 crore losses.
It may be recalled that he resigned the Mayor post as per the agreement with the Congress-MIM sharing of the post. As part of the agreement, the first two years, the Congress took the post while the later period by MIM and the deputy mayor post vice-a-versa. MIM is thinking of putting him in the election fray in view of his good relations with the people.
