‘Former Union Minister Jaswant Singh is critical’, defence sources

The health condition of Union Minister Jaswant Singh said to be very critical according to Defence sources.
A defence ministry statement said: "At present the condition is very critical. He is on life support systems and under constant monitoring by a team of neurosurgeons and critical care providers."
It may be recalled that he fell at his residence and was admitted to the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) of the Army Research and Referral hospital here early on Friday.
Sources said that he went into coma. BJP senior leader Advani visited RR Hospital. The Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday spoke to the family members of the former Union Minster who was operated upon after a head injury and prayed for his speedy recovery.

Jawant Singh held many portfolios including Finance, External Affairs and Defence minister during the NDA regime. He was expelled from the BJP in March this year after he refused to withdraw his candidature as an independent candidate from Barmer in Rajasthan ahead of Lok Sabha polls. Singh had lost Lok Sabha elections against the BJP's Col. Sonaram Choudhary.
