  • TRS president Chandrasekhara Rao meets Rahul Gandhi
    Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) president K Chandrasekhara Rao on Monday met AICC vice-president Rahul Gandhi after he met on Sunday the president Sonia Gandhi.
    Though the meeting is termed as an appreciation for Telangana decision, it gained importance at a time when the merger or forging an alliance plans are afoot. He also met the President Pranab Mukherjee to thank him on the Telangana issue.
  • GHMC approves Rs. 4,599 crore budgets for 2014-15
    HYDERABAD: Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC) on Monday approved a budget of Rs.4, 599 crore for the year 2014-15. Mayor Masjid Hussain described this as a peoples' welfare budget while opposition termed it as a window dressing. GHMC Commissioner Somesh Kumar attended the meeting.
  • AICC invites State Ministers
    AICC general secretary Digvijay Singh has invited the State Cabinet Ministers to be available in Delhi on Tuesday. Minister Dokka Manikya Varaprasad already in Delhi while Ministers Kondru Murali, Kanna Lakshminarayna, C Ramachandraiah will be leaving to Delhi on Tuesday morning.
  • Anganwadi workers call off agitation
    Following talks with the State Chief Secretary PK Mohanty, the striking Anganwadi workers have called off their dharna temporarily and will be meeting again on Tuesday for another round of talks at 11.30am. They said that they would call off the agitation if the talks are fruitful in nature else it would be continued.

    Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) president K Chandrasekhara Rao on Monday met AICC general secretary Digvijay Singh and a discussion took place on the possible merger of the party. It may be recalled here that he who met AICC president Sonia Gandhi along with his family members told to media of the same. Rajya Sabha member and senior leader K Keshava Rao too participated in an hour long talks. A release said that the TRS president will be coming to Hyderabad on February 26.

    HYDERABAD: Telangana Rashtra Samithi (TRS) MLA T Harish Rao faulted the Telugu Desam Party (TDP) president Nara Chandrababu Naidu as the main betrayer of the Telangana people. He said that Naidu did not acknowledge the six decades dream of the Telangana people when it was realized. He sought to know how the TDP leaders of Telangana region would organize celebrations. He questioned them whether lodging complaints against TRS activists and students who staged protests in front of their houses asking them to join the movement was their achievement, he questioned.

He demanded the centre to allocate one lakh crore for it's development. He wanted Visakhapatnam to be developed as Industrial Centre and suggested to create a Girijan University in Araku and Dalit University in Rajahmundry.     GUNTUR: Certificate verification for those who successfully got through the test will be conducted from Tuesday said District Collector Suresh Kumar. Releasing the list of successful candidates, the Collector said that the process begins at 9.30am for VRO candidates at Collectorate and VRA candidates at 9am at concerned RDO office.   • Seemandhra BJP meets on February 26
    VIJAYAWADA: Bharatiya Janata Party that was branded as betrayer to Seemandhra Andhra by extending support to the division Bill in Parliament in a damage control effort plans to convene a meeting on February' 26 at Vijayawada as a central point for all the 13 Seemandhra districts. All district party presidents and party functionaries will attend the meeting which is to addressed by BJP senior leader M Venkaiah Naidu. The meeting will elect Seemandhra BJP state leader said sources. Former MLA Haribabu from Visakhapatnam may likely be elected for the coveted post.
