Esther Anuhya's father met Home Minister Shinde, seeks intervention

Singavarapu Jonathan Prasad, father of Esther, met the Union Home Minister Shushil Kumar Shine on Friday and sought his intervention in speeding up the probe. Esther was raped and murdered in Mumbai.
In a representation to the Home Minister, he complained of the apathy of the Mumbai police. He explained him of the terrible experience with the Mumbai Police during the search for his dither. He told him of the negligence on the part of the police and explained him in detail the experiences he had and sought his direction to the Maharashtra government.
Home Minister Shinde who was moved immediately asked the Maharashtra Home Minister RK Patil to expedite the probe. In a letter to him, Shinde observed that a swift action was needed to do justice to the victim's family. 'I shall be grateful if swift action is taken in the matter and persons involved in the heinous crime are brought to book at the earliest', said Shinde in his letter.
It may be recalled here that Singavarapu Esther Anuhya, a software engineer working for TCS was found murdered in Mumbai. She took Visakhapatnam-Mumbai train in Vijayawada on January 4 and reached Mumbai on the next day but could not reach the hostel. Her father rushed to Mumbai and began searching for her and the Police could not extend the desired level of help and found half burnt body of his daughter almost 11 days of her disappearance.
