Death toll rises to 22 in Nagaram GAIL gas leakage tragedy

One Suribabu (58) died while undergoing treatment in Kakinada hospital. With this death, the death toll rose to 22.
It may be recalled that seven persons died while undergoing treatment. The injured four whose condition became serious were shifted to Kakinada Medical College for improved medical care.
It may be recalled here that GAIL pipeline leaked at Nagaram village at Mamidikuduru mandal of East Godavari District killing 15 people and injuring 50 persons on June 27.The Chief Minister Chandrababu Naidu announced an ex-gratia of Rs.25 lakhs to the kith and kin of those killed. Out of this Rs.20 lakhs was paid by GAIL, Rs.3 lakhs from Andhra Pradesh Government and Rs.2 lakhs from Centre along with Rs.5 lakhs to the injured.
