Conferred IAS issue - High Court directs to wait till CAT takes a decision

A Division Bench of the Andhra Pradesh High Court comprising of Justice KC Bhanu and Justice Anis on Friday made it clear that till the Central Administrative Tribunal, Hyderabad Bench, finally decides the case, the Union of India shall not take any further steps in the matter of selection to the posts of conferred IAS officers.
It may be recalled here that one Madhavi Krishna Murthy filed a case in CAT complaining that her case was not being considered. In the absence of any interim order, she approached the High Court in January. The Court in a direction to the UPSC to go ahead with the selection process but should not to notify the names of the selected candidates finally. On Friday, all the connected cases had come for hearing and the bench remanded petitions to the CAT by directing it to dispose them of and till such time, the Centre and the UPSC were directed not to take further steps.
