Chief Secretary seeks a committee for distribution of IAS officers

Chief Secretary Prasanna Kumar Mohanty will be writing to Centre seeking a mechanism for distribution of IAS officers between the two successor States of Andhra Pradesh.

In the back drop of the State IAS cadre that represented to him that they be given an option to choose the State cadre, a team of senior IAS officers were identified according to sources for distribution of IAS officers between Telangana and residual Andhra Pradesh.

In the State of Andhra Pradesh, out of the total strength of 376 IAS officers, 293 were functioning including three from outside the State. With the shortage of 77 officers the Apex committee seeks additional allotments for distribution among these two States.
