Chief Minister assures hundred per cent power supply during summer

Addressing the 182th State Level Bankers' Committee (SLBC) meeting on Saturday in Hyderabad, Chief Minister N Kiran Kumar Reddy asked the bankers to be lenient with the over dues of industries as they faced power crisis last year.
Kiran Kumar Reddy assured that there would no power cut during this summer. He urged the banks to step up lending for tenant farmers, SCs, STs, Minorities and disabled people. He said that only 1.4 lakh tenant farmers of the targeted six lakh were given loans, he urged them to think of extending the same. On lending for the disabled, expressing his unhappiness over lending to the tune of Rs.49 crore as against Rs.6000 for the year is an insult. He said notification to reschedule loan payment in cyclone hit districts would be issued shortly.
President and Chairman of SLBC Andhra Bank CVR Rajendran said that credit flow to the priority sector was 53.4 per cent while for agricultural sector it is 94.7 per cent.
