Chandrababu Naidu turns down the land value hike proposal

Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister Nara Chandrababu Naidu putting an end to the apprehensions of land value hike on Thursday turned down the Revenue Department’s proposal.
The Revenue Department has proposed a 30 per cent hike of market value of the lands. The wanted to make the increase effective from August 1 which the Chief Minister did not cleared the proposal.
Sources said that Chandrababu Naidu reportedly asked the officials not to reconsider the proposal since it would be very difficult for the government to acquire land for building the State Capital. More, it would make the government unpopular.
Sources said that if the proposal is cleared, it would generate a revenue of over Rs.4,000 crore per annum.
Meanwhile, Revenue Minister KE Krishna Murty however, denied that there was a proposal with the government.
