EAMCET counselling notification on Wednesday

The Andhra Pradesh State Council of Higher Education (APSCHE) has decided to start the first phase of admission procedure from August 7 across Andhra Pradesh and Telangna States.
The Notification for the EAMCET counselling will be issued on July 30. The Admissions Committee meeting held at the APSCHE decided to kick-start the process in view of the Supreme Court’s observation that it had not objected to the admissions process when was approached by Telangana State Government seeking extension of time.
The Chairman of APSCHE L Venugopal Reddy said that the issue of fee reimbursement will be decided later as the certificate verification process would take at least 15 to 18 days.
Telangana Secretary dashes letter:
Meanwhile, the Telangana Secretary for Higher Education Vikas Raj dashed off a letter to the APSCHE stating that the matter was ‘sub-judice’ and dates cannot be announced. He said that the issue is in Supreme Court and coming up for hearing, the APSHE should not take a decision. He charged of APSCHE taking actions unilateral. He further said that under Sec.95 of AP Reorganization Act, common admissions have to be taken with mutual consent which was refuted by APSCHE.
Andhra Pradesh State Council for Higher Education (APSCHE) Chairman L Venugopal Reddy on Tuesday clarified that the counselling will be done in accordance with law. Speaking to media after a meeting with the AP Chief Secretary IYR Krishna Rao he said that the counselling was took place in the discussions.
He said that the counselling will be done as decided and will be seeking the Supreme Court for smooth conduct. He reiterated that the Supreme Court has not directed to stop the EAMCET counselling. Venugopal Reddy said that number of representations were coming from the parents for the conduct of counselling. He said that the counselling will be held as per the directions of Committee taken on Monday. He said that certificate verification will begin from August 7 and notification will be issued on July 30.
