Central Government allots 65 MW of additional power to Andhra Pradesh

The Central Government has decided to allocate 65 MW of additional power and four lakh tonnes of additional coal to Andhra Pradesh. Apart from this, the State Government would get 800 MW from Krishnapatnam plant from August 7 and 1,000 MW from Hidujas later.

Speaking to media after the State Cabinet meeting in Hyderabad on Saturday, the Information and Public Relations Minister Palle Raghunath Reddy said that the government has decided to go in for a comprehensive inquiry into corruption in different sectors including land allotments, mining, irrigation projects, SEZs, sand mining, liquor and chit fund scams that has taken place in the previous government. He said that TDP government would take steps for recovery of the loss to the exchequer. The I&PR Minister said that a Cabinet sub-committee would go into all these aspects. He also added that the government would ask the CBI to inquire into the case relating to the seizur5e of truckloads of illicit liquor in Nellore prior to elections.
