Court sent back Patan Kumar Poddar to Chanchalguda Central Prison

The CCS police produced Naib Subedar Patan Kumar Poddar in Nampally Court on Monday after six days of the remand of the accused.

The police informed the court that the accused has sent the secret information on the Army including those of the missile expertise, regiment info through e-mails according to primary information they could get from Patan Kumar. The CCS has named one Anuskha Sharma as the second accused based on the information and they have to go in deep in analyzing the data.

Police came to conclusion that Anushka Sharma stayed at Rajasthan and Jaipur. They told to the court that they could come to conclusion based on the chatting the accused had with the Pakistani spy. They police have to establish the scientific evidence on her movements in the county. The police told to the court that Patan has not revealed the complete information but only said that he was trapped by her.

Police now concentrating on analization of the information through forensic methods. The police have written to bank officials to ascertain the names of those who credited the amounts to Patan Kumar account.

It may be recalled here that Patan Kumar was arrested by a joint operation of CCS police with Army officials on August 7 on the charges of spying the Army information to Pakistani spy Anushka Sharma. Police sources said that Poddar was actively involved in networking marketing business for a company called Secure Life. He was contacted by a foreigner suspected to be a Pakistani on a social networking site and she had been in touch with him over phone and both exchanged mails. It is reported that she share with him her nude pictures to entice him. Police believed that he had shared information pertaining to Army bases and deployment of some defence units with her. Police registered cases under Sections 3, 4 and 5 of the Official Secrets Act 1923 besides Sec. 120-B, and 3 and 3 of the Prize Chits Money Circulation banning Act of 1977.

It may be recalled that the Poddar had installed Trojan malware in the official computer at Secunderabad Railway station’s special counter for the military at the behest of Anushka Sharma. He confessed the CCS police that he did it at the instruction of her and added that the info asked about the photograph of missile unit and storage unit had not been sent to her. He said that he emailed the photo of official documents to her along with telephone numbers of MCOs and their movement in a phased manner. He said that he received Rs.20,000 in his SBI Savings Bank account at Malda in West Bengal in return. He confirmed that he had purchased a second hand laptop at Rs.15,000 that was kept in the custody of his friend Pradeep Kumar Posala of Hasmathpet exclusively for chatting and e-mails to her. He chatted with her through Facebook messenger as instructed by the woman and created a new email ID and opened a new bank account. He shared the password of the new email ID so that she could access his emails. She used to send emails in English with Hindi words or meanings. The woman sent Rs. 74,000 in seven instalments to Poddar.
