22 workers injured in a blast at Glochem Pharma Company

A blast occurred at a reactor at the Glochem Pharma Company at Parawada in Visakhapatnam on Saturday.

At least 22 workers were injured in the incident and the condition of the seven of the workers reported to be serious. All the injured were rushed to Gajuwaka hospital. It may be noted here that the Inspector of Factories has ordered for to close down the unit in the last year.

The Parawada Police Inspector said that the workers received minor burns and not a big explosion and they are ascertaining the cause of the accident.

The injured are Y.Ramsailesh, Assistant Manager (Amalapuram), D Subba Rao (Srikakulam), P Yashwant (Aganampudi), K Ramu (Tanam), KL Das (Srikakulam), Murali, Assistant Production Manager (Kakinada) Radha Krishna (Amalapuram), G Appa Rao, Chalapati (Tanam), Srinivas (Aganampudi).
