Bill passage paves way for formation of Telangana State

With the passage of the AP State Reorganization Bill 2013 (Telangana State Formation) bill in Lok Sabha, the Telangana State will become the 29th State in the country. Union Home Minister Sushil Kumar Shinde initiated the debate on the Bill in Lok Sabha today. Congress with the active support of the Bharatiya Janata Party could get the controversial Bill passed in Lok Sabha.
Live telecast of the debate was stopped to avoid a repeat of last Thursday. The government has reportedly offered to move official amendments to ensure that some of BJP's demands are met - like sharing revenue from the joint capital of Hyderabad. The BJP says it wants all amendments it has sought to secure Seemandhra's interests.
Lok Sabha approved all the 36 out of 37 amendments made by the Government.
Finally the AP State Reorganization Bill 2013 was approved by Lok Sabha.
The approval of Rajya Sabha is only a nominal with the Lok Sabha approved the Bill.
