'Bifurcation process would be restarted', says Vundavalli Arun Kumar

March 9, 2014 - Hyderabad

Former Rajahmundry Congress MP Vundavalli Arun Kumar speaking to media on Sunday said that he is hopeful of the Supreme Court Constitutional Bench will direct the Centre for restarting the division process.

Arun Kumar said that he is waiting for the Supreme Court Constitutional bench verdict and added that it division process has no validity without amending to Article 371(D) on the powers to the Governor.

The Rajahmundry former MP said that there was no possibility of making amendments after forming the new government at the Centre even if the BJP and Congress joined together as two-third majority and support of half of the State assemblies in the country needed to make Constitutional amendments in Parliament. He reminded that all other parties including those in favour of small States except Congress and BJP have opposed the bill in Parliament.
