Balakrishna speaks to press, reiterates party won't request services of Harikrishna and Junior NTR

Tollywood actor and TDP Hindupur Assembly contestant Nandamuri Balakrishna made sensational remarks while campaigning for the party in Vizianagaram. Balakrishna stayed overnight at Vizianagaram and spoke to press persons at the party office.

Balakrishna said that the Telugu Desam Party never distanced any leader from the party. He was answering to a question as to why his brother Nandamuri Harikrishna and nephew Junior NTR are staying away from campaigning for the party. Balakrishna said that Junior NTR may not be interested in campaigning for the party and it is up to him whether to extend his services for the strengthening of the party. Harikrishna had earlier expressed his displeasure at being sidelined by the party and not giving him a ticket to contest the coming elections. Balakrishna made it clear that the party would not seek the help of any one for campaigning purposes and added that the party has no necessity to request their services.

When asked if he would campaign for his sister Daggubati Purandeswari who shifted to BJP from Congress, Balakrishna said that it is not in his schedule. Daggubati Purandeswar is contesting from Rajampet parliamentary constituency on Bharatiya Janata Party ticket. Referring to Pawan Kalyan's involvment in politics, Balayya said referred him as a good person and lauded him for taking a wise decision in extending support to BJP-TDP alliance.

When asked if Balakrishna is aspiring for a minister's post if the party comes to power, he said that he is a committed party worker and would obey the directions of the party leadership. He expressed his confidence over his victory from Hindupur constituency, as it has been a shield for the NTR family since decades.

When asked about his views on the bifurcation of the state, Balakrishna said that it is painful to see Telugu people divide among themselves and added that thought there are physical boundaries, all Telugu people are united in spirit. He praised the leadership of Chandrababu Naidu and said he is the only one who could develop both regions of the State. He also expressed confidence that the party is very strong in both the regions.
