11 persons washed away at Bagdhari water fall


August 4, 2014 - Hyderabad

Even before one forgetting the Beas tragedy in which 24 students were washed away, another incident took place at Bahdhari water falls in Jabalpur in Madhya Pradesh.

Rescue teams rushed into the action and could retrieve 7 dead bodies. Sources said that 12 persons from two families from Hanuman Tal in Madhya Pradesh came there for spending a day. When they have packed up for return, there were washed away after sudden increase of waters in river let. One woman could escaped from waters. Locals who tried to save them could not succeed resulting the rescue forces to swung into action. One girl who could manage to escape from the accident is being treated at a hospital.

Superintendent of Police Hari Narayanchari Mishra confirmed that only 7 bodies were fished out.

District Collector, Vivek Porwal has announced an ex-gratia of Rs 1 lakh each to the kin of those killed in the mishap.
