BJP terms bifurcation bill as unjust as it does not address concerns of Seemandhra

Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) termed the AP State Reorganization Bill 2013 by the Centre as unjust as it does not address the concerns of the people of Seemandhra region.

BJP senior leader M Venkaiah Naidu spelt out the stand on Monday at a protest programme organized by the State unit at Jantar Mantar. Speaking to media by surprise, he said that the BJP on Sunday night sent an e-mail informing about the protest. Though there have been indications for over a month that the party is unhappy over the manner in which the Congress had handled the issue.

Venkaiah Naidu said that the Bill is not comprehensive and amendments needed to address the concerns of Seemandhra people. He said that BJP is committed to the creation of Telangana and at the same time is also keen in addressing the concerns of the people of Seemandhra. The stance took by surprise when the Centre is planning to get the bill introduced in the Parliament in February.
